Nudge thyself.

We short-change ourselves when we too often focus on the big goal to attain rather than the incremental, pedestrian steps (pun intended) that help us attain our goals. First, those “everyday” little pushes can, in and of themselves, be tremendously fulfilling. Second, psychologically, focusing on the end can sabotage the steps to getting there because we frequently focus on how we’re falling short of the ultimate prize, which is demoralizing and demotivating.

So, don’t work towards becoming a musician. Play every day. Don’t become a writer. Write every chance you get. Don’t achieve a high position of leadership. Lead. Now. In this very moment.

In other words, nudge thyself, everyday, every moment, little by little, bit by bit. And love every second of it.
